23/05/2015. Took a ride on the first summer Saturday Paddington to Pembroke Dock '125'. This may well be the last summer that they will run according to a certain FGW employee. I started my journey from Cardiff Central 30 min's late due to problems the other side of Newport. Even with quick turnarounds at Swansea and Carmarthen we still arrived at the Dock 25 min's late. No time for a breakfast in the station pub, just the one pint of guest ale. The main advantage of this service is that you can open the window to take photo's. Although from Whitland to the Dock you have to keep your wits about you as there in so much hanging overgrowth!!! I will miss the '125's' when they've gone. Very comfortable ride/seats since the last refurb. After taking just over 1500 shots I arrived back into Central just a few min's late just in time for my connection on the valleys line. I had to put up with 15 min's on a bleeding pacer. Horrible things. I will try and have another ride before September comes.
As I've got a backlog of over 15,000 photo's to sort/edit due to long delyed eye surgery, In each case where possible I've uploaded the full unedited folder and will delete duplicates and naff shots when time permits.
