23rd September 2017.

This was my first experience of a 'Soap Box Derby'. It turned out to be quite entertaining despite the lack of blood and broken bones. The paramedics only ever left their ambulance for a coffee.

Having a 6am start to travel down to Tenby I was concerned by the heavy rain I had for my four hour journey. However as it happened, by noon the sky had cleared and the sun came out. A slight delay in the start was irrelevant as once the first run started the enthusiastic crowd cheered every entry on. We first had a very cautious run so everybody could get used to the circuit. Then we had three (four actually due to a timer fault) timed runs with just a couple of spills. To end the afternoon everybody could do a free style run, no holds barred. Once all the times had been in the eventual winners were the 'Mad Monks'. Judging by the attendance this (hopefully) will be come an annual event. If only the course was through the town centre!

Please note a number of duplicates will be deleted in the coming weeks when time permits.
